Health Guarantee
What we cover
2-Year Genetic Guarantee
We provide a 2-year guarantee against debilitating genetic health conditions. If a covered condition is diagnosed by a licensed veterinarian, we will work with you on a replacement or partial refund.
72-Hour Health Window
Every puppy must be examined by a licensed veterinarian within 72 hours of going home. This protects you and gives us peace of mind that your puppy arrived healthy.
What Is Covered
Debilitating genetic conditions diagnosed by a licensed vet that significantly impact quality of life — including hereditary joint, heart, and eye conditions.
What Is Not Covered
Environmental factors, parasites, injuries, illnesses contracted after leaving our care, or conditions caused by improper nutrition or care.
Our guarantee is built on trust and transparency. We're always available to talk through any health concern — before, during, and long after your puppy comes home.

Vet Checks & Vaccinations
What your puppy receives before going home
Full veterinary examination — Every puppy is examined by a licensed veterinarian before leaving our care. We want an expert set of eyes on every puppy we place.
Age-appropriate vaccinations — Puppies receive their first round of vaccinations on schedule before going home, following standard veterinary protocols.
Deworming — All puppies are dewormed on a standard schedule beginning at two weeks of age and continuing through pickup.
Health records provided — You'll receive a complete health record at pickup documenting all vaccinations, deworming, and the veterinary exam.
Microchipped — Every puppy is microchipped before going home so they can always find their way back if they ever get lost.

Genetic Testing
What we test every parent dog for
Every parent dog in our program is tested through Embark before ever producing a litter. We screen for the conditions most relevant to Bernese Mountain Dogs and Poodles so we can make informed pairings and give every puppy the cleanest genetic start possible.
Embark DNA Panel
Comprehensive screening for 200+ genetic health conditions, traits, and disease risks. The gold standard in canine genetic testing.
OFA Hip & Elbow Certifications
Orthopedic Foundation for Animals evaluations to screen for hip and elbow dysplasia — common concerns in larger breeds.
Cardiac Clearances
Heart evaluations to screen for hereditary cardiac conditions relevant to the Bernese Mountain Dog lines in our program.
Eye Certifications
CAER eye exams to screen for hereditary eye conditions, performed by a board-certified veterinary ophthalmologist.
Degenerative Myelopathy (DM)
DM is a serious hereditary condition in Bernese lines. We test every parent and only pair dogs to avoid producing affected puppies.
Von Willebrand's Disease
A hereditary bleeding disorder found in some Poodle lines. We screen all parents to ensure no affected puppies are produced.

Early Neurological Stimulation
The first two weeks
Early Neurological Stimulation (ENS) is a protocol originally developed for military working dogs that has since become a cornerstone of responsible breeding. Beginning on day three of life and continuing through day sixteen, we perform five specific handling exercises with each puppy daily. Research shows this brief window of neurological stimulation produces dogs with stronger immune systems, greater stress tolerance, stronger heartbeats, and improved adaptability throughout life.
Tactile Stimulation
Gentle stimulation between the toes with a cotton swab activates the nervous system in ways not experienced during normal activity.
Head Held Erect
Holding the puppy upright with the head directly above the tail stimulates the vestibular system and builds neurological resilience.
Head Pointed Down
Inverting the puppy so the head is pointed downward provides a contrasting vestibular experience that strengthens adaptability.
Supine Position
Holding the puppy on its back in the palm of the hand exposes it to a position of vulnerability and builds emotional stability.
Thermal Stimulation
Placing the puppy on a cool, damp towel for a brief period stimulates the nervous system through a mild temperature contrast.
